Reel in the Cure
My name is Courtney and I have been fishing since I was just a little girl. Throughout I’ve made many accomplishments with my fishing experiences. I am now sponsored by two companies called “Pink Fishing” and “Lockett Lures” Pink fishing is a wonderful company that sells clothes and fishing gear, and all the profit they make goes towards finding the cure of breast cancer! Their slogan is “Reeling in the cure” and I believe it fits the company perfectly. I’m honored to be a part of their organization and I will always continue to “Reel in the Cure” At times, people often look at me with a puzzled look on their faces. I ask them what’s wrong, and they simply say, “When you were little you definitely liked the outdoors, but boy did you ever like playing with your Barbies and playing dress up, and now all you ever want to do is fish”. Yes it’s true, I try to focus on the important things in life, which I believe is fishing. My whole life has honesty been changed because of this wonderful sport. Nothing else in this world can make me feel happier and at peace with the world than fishing does. I want to thank everyone that has taught me everything they know about fishing, I would not be the fisherwomen I am today without you! I especially owe a big thank you to my dad. He is the one that introduced me to the sport of fishing and helped me reel in my first fish. I still remember to this day how excited I was! I remember I wanted to keep that little brook trout so bad, even though it wasn’t very big! He is truly a wonderful outdoorsman and I’m blessed to have followed in his footsteps and kept the sport going in our family. I’ve never been so passionate about anything as much as I am about fishing. I think it is wonderful that more women are getting into hunting and fishing and showing the men that women have just as much talent and passion for the outdoors as them!
